Beware the “No True Scotsman” fallacy around election time.
It looks like this: “No true [insert identity/ religion/ ethnicity/ race] can vote for [insert politician or political party].”
Reject these efforts to control you, especially from those who profess to be very learned. Study the issues, weigh the options, stay true to your principles, and vote for whomever you want. It’s YOUR vote. No one is entitled to it.
Or...don’t reject these efforts. Trust those who profess to be very learned. After all, it’s YOUR vote. No one is entitled to it.
Just be aware of the fallacy.
